The university leadership training program for the 2012/2013 academic year will be held from October to November this year, Higher Education Ministry Director General of Students Affairs Keerthi Mawellage said.
The leadership and positive attitude development training program is scheduled to be launched in three sessions at 22 Army camps islandwide, he said.
Mawellage said the Higher Education Ministry hopes to announce the exact date and other details in the near future. Several changes have been made in this year's program considering feedback from students, parents and university academics.

"A certificate will be awarded to every university students participating in the program. There is a very good response from students and parents regarding this program," Mawellage said.
The program's aim is to develop leadership skills and change the undergraduates' attitude. The training comprises both theory and practical sessions, including indoor and outdoor activities.
