Degree and Diploma Programmes
The 4-year BSc Honours Engineering degree consists of 2 semesters per year with 15 credits per semester. At the end of first 2 years the student will earn a Higher Diploma in Electronic Technology (NVQ Level 6).The Higher Diploma is primarily built around developing a strong foundation in engineering science and design mathematics, basic science and computing, humanities and complementary studies such as management economics and communication.
Upon completion of the Higher Diploma students can choose one of the 3 major fields as preferred;
B.Sc. Hons. (Eng.) (Electronic and Power Engineering)
B.Sc. Hons. (Eng.) (Electronic and Communication Engineering)
B.Sc. Hons. (Eng.) (Electronic Engineering and Engineering Management)
Launched in 2014 with the motive of realizing the Sri Lanka’s vision of becoming the knowledge hub in Asia, SLT Campus, a fully owned subsidiary of Sri Lanka Telecom PLC will initially offer professional short courses leading to various degree programmes with it’s specialized knowledge in the industry. SLT Campus has planned to offer collaborative degree programme with couple of the highest ranked universities to partner a campus in the field of Engineering and Technology. The initiative helps expand the much needed University-Industry collaboration which will contribute to Sri Lanka’s rapid national development.
SLT Campus is located at the SLT Satellite Station in Padukka and is easily accessible from Colombo via common transport modes. The campus also has all required facilities including Laboratories, Classrooms, Auditorium and Library. The administrative office and the city campus is based at TRACE expert city in Maradana.
