More than 4000 officers will be recruited to fill the Grama Niladiri vacancies countrywide. The interviews are scheduled to be held soon.
The ministry of public administration and home affairs informed that double the number of the potential recruits. Those who will be selected will be given three month training. The ministry expects to induct them on service from the 1st of January. Under this programme all vacancies in the grama Niladari service including in the northern and eastern provinces will be filled. The ministry has also made arrangements to provide laptops to the new recruits.
